     T.G.I. Friday's, the first American casual dining chain, is a dining experience that has become the favourite pastime of millions since 1965.
     The first T.G.I. Friday's was located at First Avenue and 63rd Street in NewYork City and featured red and white striped awnings, a blue exterior and its name - T.G.I. Friday's. Inside were wooden floors, Tiffany lamps, bentwood chairs and striped tablecloths. The bar area, with its brass rails and stained glass, contributed to the ambience. For T.G.I. Friday's interior decor,time antique "picker" travelled extensively to auctions and flea markets.
     T.G.I. Friday's leads the industry in innovation with menu items such as many items such as full Wrappers, Pizzadillas and Friday's Jack Daniel's Grill. We were the first restaurant chain to offerstone-ground while wheat bread, avocados, bean sproyts, and Mexican appetizers across the nation. T.G.I. Friday's invented potato skins and has popularised many items such as frozen and ice cream drinks.
     The credo of T.G.I. Friday's, to treat every customer as we would an honoured guest in our home, is reflected in everything we do. This commitment to superior guest satisfaction is exemplified by our 80 million guest visit per year.The overwhelming success of our restaurants comes from a very large guest base. Traffic draws primarily from the 21-49 age bracket with a median income of $45,000-$50,000. Some college or a degree is the norm for most T.G.I. Friday's guests.
     T.G.I. Friday's has aggressively expanded over the last few years. Our overall development strategy calls for more than 1,000 total restaurants by the end of 2001, which includes more than 350 international units in more than 60 countries.
